Cairo-Alexandria

5 days / 4 nights

Overview

From the hustle and bustle of the Victorious new capital to the cosmopolitan decadence of the old one – this tour is a trip down Egypt’s memory lane.

Though Cairo is known today as the Mother of the World, it doesn’t hold a candle to the vibrant history of Alexandria. Named after its founder, Alexander the Great, Alexandria was, once upon a time, the stuff of legends.

Trip Itinerary

Before it was ravaged by wars, Alexandria was home to one of the old seven wonders of the world as well as the archive of ancient knowledge. The hands of time reshaped it into one of the Mediterranean’s key commercial hubs, and eventually it emerged as the sophisticated metropolitan it is today.

This trip gives you the ultimate Egypt-immersive experience. From the great pyramids to the Great Library, this trip is one of the greatest ways to savor Egypt.

Day 1

Arrive at Cairo airport.

You will be met and assisted by our representative throughout the immigration and customs formalities, then transfer by coach to the hotel for your first night in Cairo.

Day 2

Gather for a special welcome reception and enjoy your complimentary breakfast.

Afterwards, we drive to the Egyptian Museum to see the remarkable collection of antiquities kept there, including statues, sarcophagi, and the treasures from the tomb of King Tut Ankh Amoun.

Then we drive to nearby Giza to experience one of the seven wonder of the world, the Pyramids and famous Sphinx and the secluded temple nearby.

Day 3

After breakfast, we drive south to visit the sites of ancient city of Memphis with its 40ft statue of Ramses the Second and Sakkara where you will see the oldest of the pyramid: the Step pyramid.

In the afternoon, we drive to old Cairo where you can see the old churches, synagogue, and visit the Citadel and Mohamed Ali mosque.

Then we make a long stop at Khan El Khalili bazaar, an ancient market, which, in our opinion, is the most entertaining part of Cairo.

Enjoy a shopping spree and splurge knowing that your purchases are at the lowest possible prices and that any money you spend here goes directly to Egyptian families and preserving this country’s great heritage.

Day 4

Today, we finally make our way to the famous city of Alexandria.

The second largest city in Egypt was well known for its enormous light house – one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, and its Great Library, the largest library in the ancient world.

We also visit the Catacomb of Kom El Shokafa, Pompay’s pillar, the Citadel of Qaitbay, and end our day with a stroll along the Corniche and the famous gardens at the Palace of the last king of Egypt, King Farouk.

Overnight in Alexandria.

Day 5

On your last day, we head to the north coast, visiting Al Alamain to see the cemetery of the soldiers from the 2nd world war and the military museum, and then we drive back to Cairo for your final departure.
